Position Overview
Our client, a global Contract Research Organization (CRO), is seeing a high-visibility, proactive Senior HR Business Partner to support their Canadian operations while contributing to key North American and global initiatives. In this role, you will serve as a strategic partner to business unit leaders, driving key initiatives, strengthening employee engagement, and fostering a positive workplace culture. This role reports to the Executive Director, Human Resources, as part of a collaborative, global HR network.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Business Partnering
- Leader Support: Advise and coach business unit leaders on executing strategic initiatives, driving change management, and strengthening employee engagement.
- Talent Development & Onboarding: Design and deliver internal development programs, focused on equipping new supervisors, strengthening leadership capabilities, and optimizing the global onboarding experience.
- Global Departmental Alignment: Support specific cross-border departments (such as Clinical Operations, Project Management, and Statistical Programming) with internationally distributed workforces.
- Global HR Collaboration: Partner closely with regional HR counterparts in the US, Europe (Bulgaria), China, and Taiwan to resolve country-specific issues.
HR Programs & Employee Engagement
- Visible Engagement: Maintain a highly visible and interactive presence, serving as an approachable resource and advocate for our highly educated workforce.
- Program Delivery: Deliver training programs and internal development initiatives, with a focus on supervisor training, leadership development, and onboarding.
- Policy Development: Contribute to the creation, updating, and regional roll-out of corporate HR policies.
- Employee Relations: Manage day-to-day employee relations within a positive, non-unionized environment (heavy labour relations are not a focus).

Must-Have Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree is strictly required.
- Experience: 5 to 10+ years of progressive, senior-level HR expertise.
- Tenure: Demonstrated career stability with a strong, consistent employment history.
- Regulatory Knowledge:Deep understanding of the Canadian regulatory environment and compliance standards.
- Core Competencies: Proven mastery in change management, stakeholder management, workplace culture development, and exceptional communication skills.
- Industry Background: Prior experience in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, clinical research, or related professional environments
