Cutting Edge Landscaping is currently seeking an experienced Loader Operator to join our soil pit operations team.
The successful candidate will have experience operating loaders. This position requires a safety-focused individual who can efficiently load trucks, maintain stockpiles, and support daily pit operations while working independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a loader to load tandem trucks and other hauling equipment.
- Maintain material stockpiles through proper stacking, pushing, and blending of materials.
- Perform pit maintenance, including grading haul roads, cleaning loading areas, and maintaining safe traffic flow.
- Conduct daily equipment inspections, greasing, fueling, and routine preventative maintenance.
- Complete daily equipment inspection reports and promptly report any mechanical concerns.
- Monitor material quality and ensure accurate loading of customer orders.
- Work closely with dispatch, truck drivers, and other operators to maximize production and efficiency.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with general pit operations and other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience operating wheel loaders in a soil pit, quarry, aggregate, or heavy construction environment.
- Demonstrated ability to safely and efficiently load haul trucks.
- Strong understanding of equipment operation, material handling, and safe work practices.
- Ability to complete routine equipment inspections and identify maintenance concerns.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license.
- Clean driver's abstract is considered an asset.
- Reliable transportation to and from the worksite.
