About Bodwell Aquatics
Bodwell Aquatics is a growing swim and aquatic programming department at Bodwell High School. We provide swimming lessons, aquatic training, recreational swim programs, and seasonal camps for children and youth in a safe, structured, and professional environment.
We are looking for responsible, energetic, and qualified Swim Instructors and Lifeguards to join our team.
Position Overview
The Swim Instructor / Lifeguard will be responsible for teaching swimming lessons, supervising pool activities, ensuring water safety, and creating a positive learning experience for students of different ages and skill levels.
This role requires strong communication, professionalism, reliability, and the ability to work with children in a safe and engaging way.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach swimming lessons to children and youth in private, semi-private, and group settings
- Supervise pool activities and maintain a safe aquatic environment
- Follow lesson plans and adapt teaching methods based on student ability
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback when needed
- Enforce pool rules and safety procedures
- Respond quickly and professionally to emergencies
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pool environment
- Communicate respectfully with students, parents, and staff
- Arrive on time and be fully prepared for each shift
Required Qualifications
- Valid National Lifeguard certification
- Valid Swim Instructor certification
- Standard First Aid and CPR-C certification
- Previous experience teaching swimming is preferred
- Strong ability to work with children
- Reliable, professional, and punctual
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Lifesaving Instructor certification
- Experience working in a school, camp, or youth program environment
- Experience teaching beginner swimmers
- Ability to work weekday evenings and weekends
