Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and personable Cannabis Budtender to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service, educate customers on product options, and assist in creating a welcoming environment within our dispensary. This role requires strong communication skills, product knowledge, and the ability to handle retail sales efficiently. The Budtender will be responsible for maintaining compliance with all regulations while promoting responsible consumption. This position offers an engaging work environment where professionalism and organizational skills are essential.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting appropriate cannabis products based on their needs and preferences
- Educate customers about different strains, consumption methods, and product effects to enhance their experience
- Operate POS systems accurately for cash handling, sales transactions, and inventory management
- Upsell products and promote new or featured items to maximize sales opportunities
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sales floor, display cases, and storage areas
- Ensure compliance with all legal regulations regarding the sale of cannabis products
- Manage inventory levels through proper merchandising and stock replenishment
- Handle customer inquiries professionally both in person and via digital communication channels
- Document transactions accurately using computer operation skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel tools
- Assist with merchandising efforts to create attractive displays that enhance product visibility
- Perform light administrative duties such as filing and record keeping as needed
- Transition from Part-time to Full-time.
Qualifications
- 2 years of proven experience in cannabis retail sales, customer service, or hospitality environments.
- Sell-safe certification from AGLC.
- Strong communication skills in English; proficiency in French or other languages is highly desirable
- Familiarity with POS systems, computer operation, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), and basic math skills for cash handling and transactions
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary (e.g., stocking shelves or moving inventory)
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in merchandising and filing tasks
- Demonstrated ability to upsell products while maintaining compliance with legal standards
- Leadership qualities such as teamwork, time management, and the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively
