Position: as Support Workers / Personal Care Aides
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, direct support and care to patients in Long Term Care Homes
- Assist clients with daily activities such as personal hygiene (bathing, grooming, and dressing), eating, and mobility.
- Help ensure proper nutrition and assist with feeding when necessary.
- Perform light housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients.
- Provide emotional support, companionship, and engage clients in activities to promote cognitive function and overall well-being.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement personalized care plans.
- Document care provided and report concerns or changes to the supervising nurse.
Qualifications
- Documented completion of a Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Candidates must meet tuberculosis screening requirements per legislative guidelines.
- Preferred experience in healthcare, caregiving, or personal care roles.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, basic patient care procedures, and medication administration is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Skills
- Medical terminology and basic health monitoring.
- Case management and familiarity with healthcare software.
- Experience with home care, hospital care, hospice care, or dementia care.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Compassionate demeanor and dedication to promoting dignity and independence for clients.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $21.00 per hour
