Summary
Solinst Canada Ltd, a leading manufacturer of groundwater and surface water monitoring instrumentation, is seeking a Machine Shop assistant.
What You'll Do:
- Assist in a variety of shop duties including washing parts, cutting raw materials, production assembly, production drilling, deburring and possibly more specialized tasks such as laser machine operations, cycle counts, welding operations, and general maintenance if experience and/or aptitude aligns with the skills required.
- Support and assist our skilled workforce to optimize operational efficiency.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and operational guidelines.
- Engage in job-related training and skill enhancement opportunities.
- Have an opportunity to learn.
What You'll Need:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- A keen eye for detail and excellent communication skills.
- Physical resilience and quick adaptability.
- An aptitude for tools and things mechanical.
- An eagerness to learn.
Skills for Intermediate Level Role consideration:
- Prior experience in a machine shop.
- A general understanding machine shop process.
- Familiarity with typical machine maintenance and operations.
- The ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and specifications.
- Understand and communicate questions and concerns to coworkers and Supervisors.
- Have a desire to advance your Machine Shop knowledge.,
