About the Role
We’re seeking a proactive and experienced Occupational Health & Safety Advisor to join our team. You’ll collaborate with a diverse client base in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, delivering high-quality safety solutions aligned with client needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Stay current with OHSA legislation and regulatory updates; provide actionable recommendations
- Conduct job site inspections, hazard assessments, and compliance audits
- Develop, implement, and evaluate safety programs and procedures
- Support incident investigations, reporting, and corrective action planning
- Perform GAP analyses and program evaluations
- Analyze incident data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
- Provide advice on a wide range of OH&S matters
- Research emerging safety standards, tools, and best practices
- Mentor junior safety personnel and support client development
- Maintain ongoing client relationships and follow-ups
Qualifications
Education & Certifications
- Formal training in Occupational Health & Safety (required)
- CHSC designation (preferred)
- COR training (preferred)
- Certifications such as First Aid, Fall Protection, WHMIS, Scaffold, or Confined Space are assets
Experience
- Experience in construction environments is required
- Strong knowledge of provincial and federal OH&S legislation and CSA standards
Hands-on experience with:
- Safety program development
- Hazard identification and risk assessment
- Incident investigations
- Jobsite inspections
Skills & Competencies
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently

Additional Requirements
- Valid driver’s license, clean abstract, and reliable vehicle (travel required across NS)
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs, work at heights, climb ladders, and wear a respirator
- Flexibility for occasional overtime and travel
