Billing Clerk
White & Jeet Law is a growing criminal defence law firm with offices across Alberta. We are looking for a motivated, organized, and detail-oriented Billing Clerk to join our team at our Calgary office.
This is a full-time, in-office position that plays an important role in ensuring our billing processes are accurate, efficient, and client-focused.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and process invoices for both private clients and Legal Aid matters.
- Submit Legal Aid accounts accurately and in a timely manner.
- Manage client billing and ensure invoices are issued in accordance with retainer agreements.
- Contact clients by telephone and email regarding outstanding balances and payment obligations.
- Monitor and follow up on client payment plans.
- Record payments and maintain accurate billing records.
- Work closely with lawyers and support staff to resolve billing questions and account discrepancies.
- Maintain organized financial records and assist with other administrative duties as required.
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Comfortable working with numbers and financial information.
- Professional, courteous, and confident communicating with clients by phone and email.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience with Clio is considered an asset but is not required.
- Previous billing, bookkeeping, accounting, or law firm experience is an asset but is not required.
