Encore Patient Transfer is a 24/7x365 non-emergency patient transportation provider dedicated to delivering safe, reliable, and compassionate transport services across Ontario. Our team works closely with hospitals, healthcare facilities, and community partners to ensure patients receive timely and professional transportation.
We are currently seeking a Dispatcher to join our operations team. This is an in-office role requiring strong communication skills, organization, and the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer incoming phone calls from hospitals, healthcare facilities, and clients
- Respond promptly to online booking requests and general inquiries
- Coordinate and dispatch patient transfer crews efficiently
- Exercise rational decision-making during high-volume periods, delays, or scheduling changes
- Monitor trip progress and adjust schedules as required
- Log into healthcare and client portals to receive and manage transportation orders
- Process payments and bill credit cards accurately
- Confirm trip details and reconcile completed calls to ensure accuracy for billing and records
- Maintain accurate records and trip details within dispatch systems
- Communicate effectively with drivers and medical attendants
- Build strong working relationships within the operations team to support smooth daily workflow
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of dispatch, customer service, or coordination experience preferred
- Training will be provided for the right candidate
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and make logical decisions under pressure
- Comfortable working with computers, scheduling systems, and online portals
- Attention to detail and accuracy in billing and data entry
- Team-oriented mindset with a professional attitude
Work Environment
- This position requires working onsite at our office (remote work is not available).
- Fast-paced healthcare transportation environment
- Evening and weekend shifts may be required based on operational needs
