Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Yard Worker and Forklift Operator to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing warehouse distribution tasks, operating various types of forklifts including clamp trucks, and ensuring the safe handling and movement of goods within the yard. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency in warehouse management systems, and experience in order picking and heavy lifting. This position is vital to maintaining smooth warehouse operations, timely order fulfillment, and a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, including clamp trucks and order pickers, to load, unload, and transport materials safely within the warehouse yard
- Assist with warehouse distribution tasks by organizing shipments
- Perform heavy lifting of goods and materials to meet operational needs
- Conduct regular safety inspections on equipment and work areas to ensure compliance with safety standards
- Support order picking processes by accurately selecting items based on order specifications
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the yard to promote safety and efficiency
Requirements
- Proven experience operating forklifts, including clamp trucks and order pickers, in a warehouse or distribution environment
- Mechanical knowledge related to forklift operation and maintenance
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems for inventory control
- Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for inventory counts and measurements
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting regularly throughout shifts
- Prior experience in warehouse distribution or logistics preferred
- Strong attention to safety protocols and procedures
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
