Academy of Sport & Fitness is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic gymnastics coach to join our competitive coaching team.
ASF has been serving the York Region community since 1995 and offers programs ranging from Recreational and Xcel to Pre-Competitive and Competitive gymnastics. We are looking for a coach who is passionate about athlete development, values strong technical foundations, and enjoys working as part of a collaborative coaching team.
This position may involve coaching athletes in our Xcel, Pre-Competitive, and Competitive programs, depending on experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities
- Coach athletes in a safe, positive, and productive training environment
- Teach and develop gymnastics skills appropriate to each athlete's level
- Assist with athlete preparation for competitions and evaluations
- Work closely with other coaches to support long-term athlete development
- Maintain Gymnastics Ontario safety standards and club policies
- Communicate professionally with athletes, parents, and staff
Qualifications
- Previous gymnastics coaching experience is required
- Competitive gymnastics experience as an athlete and/or coach is considered a strong asset
- Strong technical knowledge of gymnastics skill progressions
- Ability to motivate athletes while maintaining a positive training environment
- Reliable, organized, and professional
Certifications
- NCCP certification preferred
- Emergency First Aid/CPR certification preferred
- Willingness to obtain required certifications if not currently certified
