Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the Executive Chef, overseeing daily kitchen operations, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality food and exceptional service. Responsibilities
- Assist in supervising kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and service
- Oversee food quality, presentation, and consistency in accordance with restaurant standards
- Manage food safety protocols and ensure compliance with health regulations
- Support the development of new menu items and recipes in collaboration with the Executive Chef
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth serving operations
- Train and mentor kitchen team members, fostering a positive and productive work environment
- Handle food handling procedures responsibly, maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen
- Participate in inventory management, including ordering supplies and minimizing waste
- Serve as a key leader during shifts, stepping in for the Executive Chef when necessary
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and food service within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Supervising experience with team management responsibilities preferred
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling techniques
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
- Excellent understanding of restaurant management operations and kitchen workflows
- Exceptional skills in food industry practices, including food handling, serving, and culinary techniques
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Prior restaurant experience is essential; hospitality background is highly valued
