Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver - Class 1 to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating commercial trucks to transport freight and other materials across various locations. This role requires a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and professionalism, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining compliance with all transportation regulations.
Duties
- Safely operate Class 1 commercial trucks for local and long-distance freight deliveries
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, routes, and vehicle logs
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during transportation activities
- Assist with the operation of heavy equipment when required for loading or unloading cargo
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and warehouse staff to coordinate delivery schedules
Experience
- Valid Class 1 commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Prior experience in commercial driving, freight transportation, or related fields preferred
- Knowledge of forklift operation, heavy equipment handling, and automotive repair is a plus
- Experience with freight handling and logistics management preferred
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently in various environments
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to heavy vehicle operation and cargo handling
