Job Overview:
Biosteel/Canadian Protein is seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of industrial equipment to ensure continuous production operations. This role requires a strong background in industrial maintenance, electrical systems, and mechanical knowledge, with an emphasis on safety, efficiency, and quality standards. The Maintenance Technician will play a critical role in supporting our manufacturing processes and ensuring optimal equipment performance.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and repair production and warehouse equipment, including preventative maintenance.
- Perform building maintenance tasks, including preventative maintenance.
- Assemble and install new equipment.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance reports.
- Travel between locations to conduct maintenance activities.
- Review equipment logs and ensure proper functioning.
- Pickup needs supplies and fill out orders forms
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment.
- Provide training and support to other employees on equipment use and maintenance.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and participate in on-call rotation.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrician practices, mechanical systems, and electrical experience
- Proficiency with schematics, technical manuals, and analysis skills for troubleshooting complex issues
- Experience with CMMS software for maintenance scheduling and record keeping
- Hands-on experience with HVAC systems, boilers, welding techniques, low voltage electrical systems, and PLC programming
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on safety and quality standards
- Good communication skills in English for clear documentation and teamwork
- Customer service orientation to support internal teams effectively
- Knowledge of industrial maintenance best practices within manufacturing environments
