Bar & Café Barista – Almond Coffee & Cuisine

Almond Coffee & Cuisine is looking for an energetic and customer-focused Bar & Café Barista to join our team. This position combines professional beverage preparation with general café service and requires someone who can work efficiently in a busy, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare espresso-based drinks including lattes, cappuccinos, americanos, flat whites and specialty coffees.
- Prepare matcha, teas, cold beverages, mocktails and Almond signature drinks.
- Follow recipes, portion standards and presentation guidelines consistently.
- Operate commercial espresso machines, grinders and beverage equipment.
- Steam and texture milk correctly and create latte art where required.
- Assist customers with orders and provide friendly, professional service.
- Operate POS and process cash, debit and credit transactions accurately.
- Prepare garnishes, syrups and other beverage ingredients.
- Keep the coffee bar and beverage stations clean, organized and fully stocked.
- Restock coffee beans, milk, cups, syrups, glassware and other supplies.
- Assist with food service, table clearing and general café operations when required.
- Maintain cleanliness of machines, tools, counters and customer areas.
- Follow opening and closing procedures.
- Monitor stock levels and help minimize waste.
- Work closely with the kitchen, service team, Head Barista and management.
- Follow all food safety, hygiene and sanitation standards.
Requirements
- Previous barista, café, restaurant or hospitality experience preferred.
- Knowledge of espresso-based beverages and coffee preparation.
- Experience with commercial espresso machines is an asset.
- Milk steaming and latte art skills are preferred.
- Experience preparing cold beverages or mocktails is an advantage.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Comfortable working with a POS system and handling payments.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently during busy periods.
- Reliable, punctual and team-oriented.
- Strong attention to cleanliness, presentation and consistency.
- Flexible availability including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
