Summary
We are seeking an Education Assistant to join our team at Black Lives Matter New Brunswick. This role is essential to supporting our educational initiatives aimed at dismantling anti-Black racism and fostering community empowerment. The Education Assistant will help facilitate learning opportunities that promote understanding and advocacy, and will review and modify current programs.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and implementation of educational programs focused on anti-black racism.
- Support community workshops and events aimed at educating participants on issues affecting black communities.
- Collaborate with team members to create educational materials that resonate with our mission.
- Engage with community members to gather feedback and improve educational offerings.
- Help coordinate logistics for training sessions and workshops.
- Passion for social justice and commitment to anti-racism work.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and independently
- Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Experience in education or community engagement is an asset but not required.

The following qualifications would be considered assets for the position, but are not mandatory:
- Fluent in French (bilingual)
- Familiarity with pedagogy and/or andragogy
- Interest in, or pursuit of, a career in education
