We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our finance team. This position is responsible for managing the organization's day-to-day accounting functions while ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting month-end and year-end close activities. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of the company's financial records and providing reliable financial information to support business decisions.

Key Responsibilities
Manage full-cycle bookkeeping and accounting functions
Maintain the General Ledger and ensure accuracy of all financial transactions
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Complete month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations
Perform bank, balance sheet, and intercompany reconciliations
Maintain prepaid expense, accrual, inventory, and fixed asset schedules
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely and accurate recording of transactions
Prepare and process bi-weekly payroll while maintaining payroll records- 80 Employees- Non Union- Dayforce
Coordinate statutory remittances and government filings including HST, WSIB, garnishments, and other required submissions
Reconcile sub-ledgers to the General Ledger
Manage cash receipts, bank deposits, petty cash, and cash reconciliations
Maintain accurate accounting documentation and supporting records
Assist with management reporting by providing financial analysis and insights
Maintain personnel files and payroll-related documentation as required
Support audits and ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls
Participate in special projects and perform additional accounting duties as assigned
- At least 3 years of experience in full-cycle accounting with responsibility for managing day-to-day accounting functions.
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping practices, account reconciliation, and financial reporting processes.
- Experience using computerized accounting systems; exposure to Business Central would be considered an asset.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and solid proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with Canadian payroll requirements and standard accounting practices.
- Proven ability to prepare financial statements and manage month-end close activities.
- Payroll processing experience is preferred.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment would be considered an asset.
