Position Description:
Reporting to the Site Leader, the Educator is accountable for all aspects of staff education including planning, delivering and evaluating staff education programs provided to staff in the facility. The Educator works collaboratively with the Site Leader, Clinical Leads, Registered Nurses (RN), Hospitality Manager and other site staff, to provide orientation, mandatory education and ongoing training to ensure that staff have the skills required to deliver safe effective and efficient care to the residents.
The Educator acts as a role model and ambassador for the mission and values of LeeCaring Communities.
Formal Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or diploma of Licensed Practical Nurse
- Certificates in Adult Education, Mental Health and Geriatric Nursing are desirable.
- Current and ongoing registration with CRNA/CLHA.
Experience:
- 3+ years of leadership experience in a health-related environment including supervision of staff.
- Experience in care of the elderly and dementia care.
- Clinical experience in a health care environment.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Ability to use excellent professional judgement and to act as a mentor and role model to all staff.
- Exhibits strong knowledge and skill in seniors, healthcare or relevant specialty.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
- Demonstrated aptitude for leadership and progression in career.
- Provides evidence of professional development.
- Exhibits excellent leadership communication and analytical skills. · Works within the Mission and Values of the Foundation.

Hours of work: Monday – Friday 0800-1615H
This position is Full-Time and Out of Scope.
Members of the Out of Scope Team are required to be on call one weekend out of seven.
