Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Nursery Labourer to join our team and support the daily operations of our plant nursery. This role involves hands-on work in plant care, maintenance, and general nursery tasks.
Responsibilities
- Pruning of nursery trees
- Use hand tools and mechanical equipment for planting, digging, and maintenance tasks
- Perform heavy lifting of plants, soil, and materials as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the nursery area
- Clear and collect brush and debris from fields and other work areas
- Follow safety protocols during all nursery activities to prevent accidents or injuries
- Piece work
- Tie and secure plants
- Dig trees
- Staking
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of horticulture principles is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks throughout the day
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Prior experience working in a nursery, garden center, or related environment is advantageous but not mandatory
- Applicants must be reliable, punctual & have reliable transportation
Pay: $18.25 per hour
