Care Aide & Personal Assistant (Overnight Shift)

About the Position
We are looking for a compassionate hybrid caretaker / assistant to 1) provide ongoing caregiving for a low mobility elderly parent of a busy manager and 2) carry out personal assistant and administrative assistant duties.
The ideal candidate should either have had prior experience as a caretaker or is a pre-nursing student, and be available to work on night shifts. The successful applicant should possess a ‘no job too small’ attitude - you may be asked to run errands, drive someone to a meeting, organize receipts/bookkeeping/data entry/data checking, or even assist with light cleaning- anything to lighten the workload of the manager so that he can focus more on his work.
If you have any additional skillsets, please tell use about it! There are many tasks that we have available where some help can be used, ranging from customer service/ sales assistance, laboratory assistant, bookkeeping, etc.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care (mobility, feeding, personal hygiene)
- Run varied personal errands: e.g.: running errands, driving, cleaning, coordinating, etc.
- Administrative support: Organizing receipts, files, light bookkeeping, accounts receivables, scheduling, data entry, etc.
Requirements:
- Comfortable and willing to perform hands-on caregiving duties for a geriatric person, particularly with prior experience or in pre-nursing / nursing school
- Professional spoken English or Mandarin Chinese
- Be available to work on night shifts
- Valid BC driver’s license with clean driving record (driver’s abstract required) is preferred
- Able to work in VGH area
- Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector) will be required
Location: Greater Vancouver, BC (must be local; valid BC driver’s license required)
Compensation: $23–$28 per hour (depending on experience and additional skills). Part-time/as-required or full-time will be considered.
