We are fully accredited by the Ontario Ministry of Education and are also an authorized Cambridge International School, offering Cambridge IGCSE and Pearson Edexcel A Level programs. Position Summary
We are currently seeking a qualified, OCT-certified English teacher for in-person instruction at our North York campus. This position focuses on Grade 11 and Grade 12 English courses under the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) curriculum.
This role is ideal for educators who are confident working independently, comfortable with inspection standards, and experienced in private or inspection-focused school environments.
Position Details
- Employment Type: Part-Time
- Hourly Rate: $56.75/hour
- Hourly rate is $35/hour is not an OCT certificate holder.
- Teaching Mode: In-person only
- Location: North York, Ontario
- Estimated Hours: 10–20 hours per week(Final teaching hours to be confirmed after the interview)
Teaching Responsibilities
- Teach Grade 11 and Grade 12 English courses in person
- Deliver lessons aligned with the Ontario Curriculum
- Independently manage classroom instruction and student engagement
- Design and prepare:
- Lesson plans and instructional materials
- Assignments, assessments, and final exams
- Grade student work accurately and consistently
- Maintain clear and complete student records
- Meet deadlines, including urgent or inspection-related timelines
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Valid Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification
- Strong familiarity with the Ontario Secondary School English Curriculum
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience creating curriculum-aligned assessments and exams
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Emotionally stable, well-organized, and able to work under pressure
- Flexible with scheduling and responsive to school needs
- Prior experience in private schools, inspection environments, or OSSD compliance is a strong asset
Inspection & Documentation Expectations
Teachers are expected to maintain inspection-ready materials at all times. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Course outlines and unit plans
- Daily lesson plans
- A complete classroom binder containing:
- Lesson materials
- Student work samples
- Assessment records
- Assessment evidence:
- Tests, assignments, rubrics, observations, and final evaluations
- Student attendance records and achievement tracking
Please note: Ministry inspections focus on OSSD compliance, not individual teacher performance.
