Job Description
A Technical Role at the Heart of Product Innovation
Reporting to the Director of Research and Development, the Research and Development Technician plays a key role in the development and evaluation of new materials and formulations for the manufacture of traditional and alternative pet litter.
Through a rigorous, science-based approach, you actively contribute to the advancement of innovation projects, from the experimental phase through to the recommendation of concrete technical solutions.
Your impact:

Identify and evaluate promising materials to support the development of new generations of products

Actively contribute to innovation and process improvement (micro-pelleting, extrusion, etc.)

Generate reliable data to guide technical and strategic decisions

Ensure the quality and scientific rigor of experimental work

Accelerate the development of high-performance, differentiated solutions
Your main responsibilities:
-
Plan and carry out experimental work in collaboration with the R&D team, following the principles of the scientific method
-
Identify and test various raw materials for their performance in manufacturing processes
-
Apply current analytical methods and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
-
Analyze experimental data, compile results, and formulate relevant observations
-
Maintain scientific documentation (lab notebooks, hypotheses, results) with rigor
-
Write technical reports including tables, graphs, and recommendations
-
Propose concrete solutions to guide the continuation of projects
-
Stay up to date on scientific and technological developments in your field
Qualifications
-
Technical Diploma (DEC), Certificate (AEC), or Bachelor’s degree in laboratory science, chemistry, biotechnology, or biochemistry
-
At least 5 years of laboratory experience, including at least 2 years in R&D
-
Experience in manufacturing, production, or quality control (a plus)
-
Experience with micro-pelleting or extrusion processes (a plus)
-
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
-
Knowledge of ISO 9001, GMP, or GLP standards (a plus)
-
High scientific rigor and attention to detail

Intellectual curiosity and strong analytical skills

Ability to manage multiple projects and work under pressure

Independence and team spirit

Focus on quality, efficiency, and results

Strong execution skills and organizational ability

Bilingualism (French and English), both spoken and written, to support our operations outside of Quebec

Valid driver’s license and availability for occasional travel
