Join our Team! We are seeking a ReStore Manager.
We are seeking a hands-on, community-driven, and results-oriented permanent, full time ReStore Manager to lead our retail operations, drive revenue, and deliver an exceptional experience for customers, donors, and volunteers.
Reporting to senior leadership, this role is responsible for the day-to-day success of the ReStore, ensuring strong financial performance, operational excellence, and a highly engaged team, all in support of Habitat for Humanity Heartland Ontario’s mission.
The Habitat ReStores generate revenue by selling donated and reclaimed building materials and household goods. Every sale helps build safe, affordable housing in our community.

As ReStore Manager, you are responsible for turning donations into dollars - and dollars into homes. Your leadership directly impacts revenue generation, donor relationships, customer experience, and the strength of the ReStore team.
Simply put: when the store performs well, more families get homes.
What success looks like (12-18 months)
- The ReStore consistently meets or exceeds revenue and margin targets
- Inventory flow is optimized (strong in-stock levels, turnover, and quality control)
- The store is clean, safe, well-merchandised, and delivers an excellent customer experience
- A high-performing, engaged team is in place with clear expectations and accountability
- Donor relationships are strong, with consistent and quality incoming product
- Loss prevention, cash controls, and operational processes are consistently followed
- The ReStore is recognized as a go-to destination in the community
What you'll do
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of staff and volunteers in a fast-paced retail environment
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, training, and ongoing performance management
- Mentor and develop the Assistant Manager to strengthen operational leadership
- Foster a culture of accountability, inclusion, and strong team engagement
- Lead regular team huddles and communication to drive focus and performance
- Manage scheduling, attendance, and day-to-day staffing needs
Revenue Growth & Retail Performance
- Drive sales through inventory management, pricing strategy, and merchandising
- Partner with donors and procurement channels to maintain quality and volume of stock
- Monitor financial performance and take action to achieve revenue targets
- Optimize store layout, promotions, and product flow to increase conversion and basket size
- Stay informed on local market trends and customer preferences
Operations & Store Management
- Ensure safe, efficient, and compliant store operations aligned with policies and standards
- Oversee cash handling, audits, and financial controls
- Implement theft prevention and loss reduction strategies
- Maintain high standards for store presentation, cleanliness, and organization
- Address customer and donor inquiries and resolve issues professionally
- Track performance metrics and implement continuous improvements
What We’re Looking For
- Retail Leadership Experience: 3+ years managing in a high-volume retail environment
- People Leader: Proven ability to build, coach, and retain strong teams
- Results-Oriented: Demonstrated ability to drive revenue and operational performance
- Customer-Focused: Passion for delivering a great in-store experience
- Relationship Builder: Strong interpersonal skills with staff, donors, and community partners
- Organized & Tech-Savvy: Comfortable with systems, reporting, and Microsoft Office/Teams
- Problem Solver: Able to quickly assess issues and implement practical solutions
- Mission-Driven: Alignment with Habitat for Humanity’s purpose and values
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
- Ability to pass a police check
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a physically active environment
