Job description:
We are currently looking to fill a Maintenance Technician position at our Boissevain facility, who will be responsible for the repair and upkeep of small tools, supporting machinery maintenance, and ensuring the overall functionality of the facility. This role plays a critical part in maintaining production efficiency by minimizing downtime, supporting equipment reliability, and ensuring a safe and well-maintained working environment.
Location: Boissevain, Manitoba
Shift: 7:00am-4:00pm or 9:00am-6:00pm Monday to Friday
Role Responsibilities:
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair small tools (e.g., hand tools, pneumatic tools, power tools) used in wood beam manufacturing
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on tools and assist with scheduled maintenance of production equipment
- Support maintenance and minor repairs of manufacturing machinery under
- direction of senior maintenance staff
- Conduct general building upkeep including basic carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and structural repairs
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from production teams to minimize downtime
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety standards and company policies
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and inventory of parts and tools
- Assist with installation and setup of new tools and equipment
Role Requirements:
- Previous experience in maintenance, equipment repair, or industrial environment preferred
- Familiarity with tools and equipment used in wood or manufacturing environments
- Basic knowledge of mechanical systems; electrical and plumbing experience considered an asset
- Ability to troubleshoot and perform repairs with minimal supervision
- Strong understanding of workplace safety practices
- Physically capable of lifting, carrying, and working in a hands-on environment
- Valid driver’s license considered an asset
