About the Role
We're hiring a Foundry Maintenance Technician for a busy manufacturing facility in Winnipeg. In this role, you'll keep foundry machinery and equipment running safely and efficiently — catching issues before they cause downtime, and keeping production moving. This is hands-on, technical work suited to someone who takes pride in solving mechanical and electrical problems on the fly.
What You'll Be Doing
- Conducting regular inspections and preventive maintenance on foundry machinery and equipment
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues and performing repairs to keep operations running smoothly
- Coordinating maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency
- Managing inventory of maintenance supplies and spare parts, ensuring timely procurement
- Collaborating with production teams to identify improvement areas and implement maintenance solutions
- Documenting maintenance activities and maintaining accurate repair and inventory records
- Ensuring adherence to safety protocols and environmental regulations
- Assisting with maintenance budgets and cost control measures
What You Bring
- Proficiency in mechanical and electrical systems troubleshooting
- Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Familiarity with computer-aided design (CAD) software
- Knowledge of foundry processes and equipment operation an asset
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on safety practices
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Comfortable handling loads up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and performing physically demanding, repetitive tasks
- High school diploma preferred but not required — on-the-job training provided
- Good understanding of English, both verbal and written
