Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Tow Truck Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely towing vehicles, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring efficient operations. This role requires a strong understanding of vehicle mechanics, automotive repair, and commercial driving regulations. The Tow Truck Operator plays a vital role in assisting customers with vehicle recoveries and roadside assistance, maintaining safety standards at all times. Exceptional work ethics is required, must have clean drivers abstract, pass a criminal record check upon request.
Responsibilities
- Operate tow trucks to recover and transport vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Assist customers with roadside assistance services, including jump-starts, tire changes, and lockouts.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of tow trucks to ensure proper functioning.
- Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues when necessary.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all towing activities and service reports.
- Follow safety protocols and traffic laws during all operations to ensure safety for team members and the public.
- Communicate effectively with customers, dispatchers, and team members to coordinate services.
- Must be able to work some after hours shifts.
Experience
- Prior experience in commercial driving or operating heavy-duty vehicles preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge related to automotive repair is highly desirable.
- Customer service experience is a plus, demonstrating professionalism and effective communication skills.
- Valid class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record required; commercial driver’s license (CDL) is preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and traffic regulations relevant to tow truck operations is essential. Pay: $28.00-$45.00 per hour
