Responsibilities
- Diagnose and troubleshoot vehicle problems using mechanical knowledge and diagnostic tools
- Perform repairs including engine work, brake systems, suspension, and electrical components
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid replacements
- Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to complete repairs effectively
- Read and interpret schematics and technical manuals for accurate repairs
- Assemble parts and components according to manufacturer specifications
- Maintain detailed service records for each vehicle serviced
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and environmental regulations
- Assist in vehicle inspections and quality control checks before returning vehicles to customers
Requirements
- Proven mechanic experience, preferably within a dealership environment
- Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive systems and components
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and schematics reading
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during repairs or parts handling
- Knowledge of automotive repair best practices and maintenance procedures
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a busy workshop setting
- Certification or training in automotive repair is preferred but not mandatory
