Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Painter and Decorator to join our team, responsible for transforming residential, commercial, and industrial spaces through expert painting and decorating techniques. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction, restoration, and various painting methods, with excellent attention to detail and customer service skills. This role involves working with a variety of tools and materials to deliver high-quality finishes that meet client specifications and industry standards.
Duties
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, caulking, and priming to ensure optimal paint adhesion
- Apply paint, varnish, wallpaper, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, spray equipment, and power tools
- Read blueprints and schematics to accurately execute painting projects according to design specifications
- Perform restoration work on existing surfaces to improve appearance and durability
- Utilize rigging and carpentry skills for scaffolding setup or structural adjustments as needed
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently during all phases of the project
- Manage time effectively to complete projects within scheduled deadlines
- Communicate with clients to understand their needs and provide professional advice on decorating options
- Maintain a clean work environment and ensure all safety protocols are followed throughout the job site
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction painting, residential painting, commercial painting, or industrial painting
- Knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and construction drawings
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, scaffolding, and rigging equipment safely
- Strong understanding of caulking techniques and surface preparation methods
- Familiarity with restoration processes and the use of various finishing materials
- Excellent communication skills for effective client interaction and teamwork
- Good time management skills to handle multiple projects efficiently
- Construction or carpentry background is a plus but not mandatory
- Customer service orientation with a professional attitude towards clients’ needs
