Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and caring Veterinary Technician to join our veterinary team. We are a one doctor small animal practice offering clients services that they need. the position is 3 days a week but negotiable.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and treatments
- Prepare animals for procedures and monitor anesthesia as needed
- Collect and process laboratory samples, including blood, urine, and tissue specimens
- Perform laboratory tests and analyze results to aid in diagnosis
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians
- Maintain accurate medical records and update patient files
- Provide client education on animal care, nutrition, and post-treatment instructions
- Ensure cleanliness and sterilization of medical equipment and treatment areas
- Support inventory management by ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels
Experience
- Ability to operate in house laboratory equipment.
- Previous experience working with animals in a veterinary or animal care setting is required but will look at new graduates.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Compassionate attitude towards animals and their owners
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting
