Magnum Commercial is looking for a skilled trades worker to join our team full-time. The ideal candidate has roof experience with shingles, flat roof systems, metal roofs and framing.
Job Description
Install built-up roofing systems using materials such as asphalt saturated felts and hot asphalt and gravel
Install or replace asphalt shingles, wood shingles and shakes and masonry or baked clay roofing tiles on sloped roofs of buildings
Install roofing tiles on sloped roofs of buildings
Install single-ply roofing system using waterproof sheet materials, such as modified plastics, elastomeric or other asphaltic compositions
Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements
Repair or replace shingles and shakes on sloped roofs of buildings
Repair or replace single-ply roofing systems
Apply waterproof coatings to concrete or other masonry surfaces below or above ground level
Install and repair metal roofs using hand and power tools
Install sheet metal flashings
Requirements:
Education: Completion of high school is required
Experience: At least 2 years of experience is required.
Work site environment: At heights, Noisy, Dusty, Dangerous, Outdoors.
Work setting: Various locations, Commercial, Residential.
Area of specialization: Shingled roofs, Conventional and inverted built-up system, Modified roofing system, Rigid pre-formed roofing system, Single ply sheet membrane roofing system, Tiled roofs, Skylights, Flat roofing, Repairs, Spray on coatings, Metal roofing.
Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment; Physically demanding; Bending, crouching, kneeling; Hand-eye co-ordination; Handling heavy loads; Large workload;
Overtime required; Work under pressure.
Weight handling: More than 45 kg (100 lbs)

Language requirement: English is required.
Salary: $35 - $40 per hour, depending on experience.

The employee is required meet at the main work location independently; if there is a need to move to other job sites the foreman will drive the company vehicle to transport all team members.
Important information: Flexibility in the schedule is required. The work schedule consists of 9-hour shifts per day scheduled within the hours of 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, from Monday to Friday. The worker will be entitled to one unpaid 30-minute lunch break and two unpaid 15-minute health
breaks. Overtime and weekend work may be required depending on business needs, and such work will be optional for the worker.
