Receiving Supervisor – Fruit Packing House

Okanagan Sunshine Fruit Packer Ltd. is a trusted leader in the fruit industry, committed to delivering high-quality, fresh produce through efficient and well-managed packing operations. We are seeking an experienced Receiving Supervisor to oversee all incoming fruit deliveries at our packing house. This role ensures that all inbound products are received safely, accurately, and efficiently while maintaining high quality standards. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, knowledge of produce handling, and experience working in a fast-paced agricultural or warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily receiving operations for incoming fruit loads.
- Inspect incoming products for quality, temperature, and condition, report and document any issues.
- Verify bills of lading, packing lists, and purchase orders and packaging deliveries to ensure accurate inventory entry.
- Maintain safe unloading procedures and proper handling of perishable products.
- Communicate with growers, drivers, production, and quality assurance to support smooth workflow.
- Assign tasks and oversee receiving staff, ensuring timely and efficient unloading.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, traceability, and company SOPs.
- Maintain organized receiving areas, equipment, and documentation.
- Collaborate with inventory and production teams to prioritize fruit availability.
Qualifications
- Receiving or warehouse experience; produce or agricultural setting preferred.
- Supervisory or lead experience required.
- Strong understanding of product quality standards and cold-chain handling.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, cold environment and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
- Proficiency with inventory or warehouse management systems.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work flexible/seasonal hours during peak harvest periods.
Working Conditions
The work primarily takes place indoors and outdoors within a fruit processing facility and may be exposed to severe temperature variations. The operating hours of the plant are influenced by factors such as crop availability and production requirements, often resulting in extended hours and operations seven days a week during peak months June to November.
Overtime provisions do not apply for Agricultural workers.
