Job Responsibilities:
- Perform operational checks on equipment and systems. Detect and investigate variance in performance of equipment, utilities, systems and/or facilities to ensure proper functioning.
- Perform mechanical or electrical installation, modification, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of Site equipment, utilities, systems and/or facilities:
- Read mechanical blueprints, drawings and schematics
- Read electrical blueprints, drawings and schematics
- Read hydraulic blueprints, drawings and schematics
- Tests electrical and electronic equipment for proper function.
- Selecting and applying lubricants
- Specific machine shop operations (drilling, tapping, welding, grinding, etc. using hand and power tools)
- Select, set up and use machine tools.
- Select, use and care of precision measuring equipment.
- Plans installations from blueprints, sketches and specifications and installs all mechanical, electrical and electronic devices.
- Perform maintenance inspections on all machinery during plant closures
- Ensure that all records of machine repairs and lockouts are maintained and filed
Preventive and brake-down maintenance of the following:
- Plastic extrusions equipment
- Air compressors and blowers
- Vacuum and centrifugal pumps
- Electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Chain and belt drives
- Gear boxes
Installing, maintaining and repairing the following:
- Pipe systems and valves
- Bearing, seals and packing
- Lighting systems
Diagnosing faults in mechanical, electrical and electronic systems and equipment; repairs or replaces components as required.
- A.C. and D.C. motors
- Electrical panels
- Knowledge of D.C. and AC drives ( RBF, Eurotherm, Siemens, ABB, PowerTec, Mitsubishi etc.) Able to change and set up DC and AC drives
Job Qualifications:
- 442A Industrial Electrician License Required.
- An Ontario Trades Certificate and College Diploma in a related Maintenance discipline, non-Canadian educational credentials must be assessed as equivalent.
- Three (3) years related Electrical or Electro-Mechanical experience.
- Knowledge of federal, provincial, and municipal legislation and codes.
- Ability to utilize tools, equipment, and measuring/calibration/diagnostic devices.
- Read and understand engineering drawings, schematics, specifications and technical manuals.
- Familiarity with a variety of field concepts, practices and procedures and the ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals by finding practical solutions.
- Applied technical skills, knowledge and experience to identify, recommend and implement
Working Hours:
- 8.5 Hours a day, 5.5 days a week
- Afternoon
- Half day Saturday required: 8:00 am – 12:00 pm
- On call for any plant emergency repairs during off work hours
