Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Welder Helper to support our manufacturing and construction teams. This role involves assisting skilled welders with various tasks related to fabrication, assembly, and installation. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in welding and fabrication processes, with a focus on safety, precision, and teamwork. Prior experience in rigging, mechanical knowledge, or blueprint reading is a plus, but we are willing to train motivated individuals eager to develop their skills in a dynamic environment.
Duties
- Assist welders with setup and preparation of welding equipment including MIG and TIG welding processes
- Support in rigging and lifting heavy materials using cranes or forklifts
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and machining equipment such as plasma cutters and press brake machines
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings for assembly and fabrication tasks
- Measure components accurately using calipers and other measuring tools
- Help with material handling, including ductwork, steel framing, and other construction-related tasks
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency
- Support in welding, cutting, assembly, and installation of various metal components according to project specifications
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of welding techniques including MIG and TIG welding preferred; training available for the right candidate
- Familiarity with rigging, crane operation, machining, plasma cutting, press brake machines, hand tools, power tools, calipers, schematics, and blueprint reading is highly desirable
- Mechanical knowledge related to manufacturing or construction environments is advantageous
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for measurements and adjustments
- Experience with forklift operation is a plus but not required; training can be provided
- Strong work ethic with attention to safety procedures and detail-oriented mindset
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to learn new skills related to welding assistance and fabrication processes
