Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and versatile Handyman to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction and maintenance, capable of handling a wide range of repair, installation, and renovation projects. This role requires excellent problem-solving skills, proficiency with various tools and equipment, and the ability to interpret schematics and blueprints. The Handyman will ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and to high standards, contributing to the upkeep and improvement of residential or commercial properties.
Duties
- Perform general repairs and maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, painting, and flooring installation
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to execute projects accurately
- Operate hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment, and machinery safely and effectively
- Install cabinets, tile, flooring, countertops, and other fixtures as required
- Conduct concrete forming, finishing, and masonry work for various projects
- Apply caulking and restoration techniques to improve property appearance and functionality
- Estimate materials needed for projects using construction estimating skills
- Assist with construction projects involving concrete forming, masonry, or framing as needed
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols at all times
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and within scope
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction or maintenance roles with a broad skill set in carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, masonry, or related fields
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment operation, and construction machinery
- Knowledge of concrete forming, finishing techniques, tile laying, flooring installation, cabinet installation, and restoration processes is preferred
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to construction sites and equipment operation
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues efficiently
- Physical stamina to perform manual tasks including lifting heavy materials and working in various environmental conditions
- Valid <PERSON> certification or license is a plus but not mandatory depending on project requirements
