Prairie North Construction is recruiting Heavy Equipment Operators/Labourers for a Civil Construction Project in Edmonton, Ab.

This is a project-based position Night Shift Needed , 12 Hour Shifts 7 days a week
Positions Needed: RT, Dozer, Hoe, Grader and Laborer's
This position will be responsible for the following duties but not limited to:
Duties Include:
- Operate Heavy Equipment as it applies to ditching, sloping, grading, stripping, clean-up, rock ripping etc. along with the ability to read grade stakes.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance
- Operate Grader as it applies to road building, haul road maintenance, ditching, sloping, support clean-up in excavations and embankments, scarifying, ripping etc. along with the ability to read grade stakes.
- Capable of operating both "H' and "M' series Graders with GPS control.
- Operate and maintain equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Carry out minor maintenance and inspection for equipment and reporting any deficiencies.
- Operate 30/40t Articulating Truck and support in civil construction activities such as: backfilling, road surfacing, waste hauling
- Operate water truck and support in civil construction activities such as: backfilling for compaction, road surfacing, dust suppression
- Ability to determine which areas need water support
- Knowledge of earthworks, road building, road construction etc.
- Ability to work as a team and take direction.
- Follow directions from Foreman/Supervisor
- Perform other related duties as required.Labourer Position:
- Installation of silt fence and geotextiles.
- Hand raking granular materials.
- Experience working around Heavy Equipment.
- Shoveling Equipment tracks.
- Knowledge of earthworks, road building, road construction etc.
- Ability to work as a team and take direction.
- Follow directions from Foreman/Supervisor
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Possess 2+ year’s experience
- Capable of physical Labour
- Dress appropriately for all weather conditions.
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Punctuality and reliability are critical for this role
- Must pass a competency assessment on specified equipment
- Must provide CSA approved steeled toed safety boots above ankle height
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and a Reliable Vehicle
- Local Considered an Asset
