Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and personable Bar Manager to oversee daily bar operations and deliver exceptional customer service. This role combines the responsibilities of preparing and serving drinks, managing bar staff, maintaining a welcoming atmosphere, and ensuring compliance with food safety and alcohol regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in beer and beverage service, excellent people skills, a passion for craft beer, and a drive for hospitality excellence.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages efficiently.
- Manage bar inventory, restocking supplies, and ensuring proper food handling and safety standards are maintained.
- Provide outstanding customer service by engaging with patrons, taking orders, and addressing any concerns promptly.
- Oversee bar staff, coordinate shifts, and ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain cleanliness of the bar area, including cleaning glassware, utensils, and work surfaces in accordance with food safety regulations.
- Handle cash/card transactions accurately
- Monitor alcohol consumption to promote responsible Serving it Right practices.
- Assist in training new staff on food safety procedures, POS usage, and hospitality standards.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and licensing regulations related to the food industry.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a bartender or bar manager within a restaurant or hospitality environment.
- Wants to work evenings and weekends when it's busiest.
- Proficiency with recipes and knowledge.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to serve guests efficiently while maintaining a friendly demeanor.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks during peak hours effectively.
- Basic math skills for bar stat reporting and managing transactions accurately.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Previous experience in the bar industry required.
- A personable attitude with strong communication skills to foster a welcoming atmosphere for guests and team members alike.
