Our Grande Prairie office is seeking an experienced Intermediate Civil Engineer to join our Municipal and Transportation Infrastructure team. This role is ideal for a professional who is eager to work on diverse and impactful projects within a supportive and dynamic team environment.
Qualifications:
-
B.Sc. in Civil Engineering and eligibility for professional membership with APEGA
-
Minimum of 5 years of experience in municipal and transportation engineering, with a strong preference for candidates with hands-on experience in construction observation and contract administration

Working knowledge of water and wastewater distribution and collection systems
-
Proficiency in computer software for modeling and spreadsheet analysis
-
Proficiency in CAD design modelling software
-
Demonstrated aptitude for general construction methods
-
Strong business acumen and understanding of municipal infrastructure and transportation projects
-
Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team atmosphere
-
Self-motivated with leadership potential and project management skills
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Responsibilities:
-
Oversee and manage municipal engineering projects from inception through completion
-
Perform design, construction site inspections, and contract administration duties
-
Develop and review engineering design drawings, specifications, and contract documents
-
Conduct site inspections and ensure compliance with project specifications and standards
-
Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project success
-
Coordinate designs and construction inspections with multiple disciplines
-
Provide mentorship and support to junior engineers and technologists

Rehabilitation and construction of rural and municipal road systems

Assessment, evaluation and design of bridges and culverts

Development of water treatment and distribution facilities

Development of wastewater collection, pumping, and treatment facilities
