Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Food Runner to join our dynamic restaurant team. The Food Runner plays a vital role in ensuring timely delivery of food to guests, maintaining a clean and organized service area, and supporting the overall guest experience. Duties
- Have a good knowledge of South Indian dishes, ingredients, accompaniments, and spice levels to confidently identify and serve orders.
- Deliver prepared food from the kitchen to guest tables promptly and accurately
- Assist servers with food presentation and table setup as needed
- Ensure all dishes meet quality standards before serving
- Maintain cleanliness of the dining area, including clearing empty plates and resetting tables
- Support kitchen staff with basic food preparation or replenishing supplies when required
- Handle food safely and follow proper food handling procedures
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, servers, and management to ensure smooth service flow
- Assist with cleaning duties to uphold health and safety standards
- Use POS systems such as Micros POS for order accuracy when necessary
- Provide excellent guest services by being attentive, courteous, and professional at all times
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or hospitality industry preferred
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling procedures
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team
- Basic understanding of kitchen operations, serving techniques, and meal preparation is a plus
- Experience with POS systems such as Micros POS or cashiering is advantageous
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds as needed
- Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly demeanor
- Prior experience in hotel or barista environments is beneficial but not mandatory
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting
