Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Part-Time Day Porter to join our commercial cleaning team in Toronto for 3 days a week. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and overall upkeep of commercial properties throughout the day. This role includes routine cleaning, restocking supplies, responding to maintenance-related cleaning requests, and ensuring common areas remain safe, clean, and welcoming for tenants, employees, and visitors. The Day Porter plays a key role in delivering exceptional service and maintaining the high standards our clients expect.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and restroom sanitation
- Maintain cleanliness of common areas, hallways, entryways, and other designated spaces
- Ensure all cleaning supplies and equipment are properly stored and maintained
- Monitor the facility for safety hazards or maintenance needs and address or escalate as appropriate
- Support special cleaning projects or event setups as needed
- Adhere to safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment during all tasks
Qualifications
- Prior experience in cleaning, commercial cleaning, or facilities maintenance is preferred
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness and safety standards
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing for extended periods, bending, lifting up to 20 pounds
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize daily tasks efficiently
- Reliable with a strong work ethic and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Good communication skills to report issues or concerns effectively
