Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Legal Assistant to join our legal team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to support our lawyers with a variety of administrative and legal tasks in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, proficiency in implementing and keeping legal systems, and excellent communication abilities.
Duties
- Draft, proofread, and review legal documents, correspondence, and filings with precision
- Manage case files through organized filing systems, both electronically and physically
- Support project management efforts by coordinating deadlines, scheduling meetings, and tracking case progress
- Manage trust bookkeeping system and monthly accounts for lawyers
- Maintain professional phone etiquette when communicating with clients, courts, and other stakeholders
- Assist lawyers with document preparation, legal drafting, and other administrative duties as required
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in administrative or clerical roles within a legal environment, preferably in a family law environment
- Strong proofreading, writing skills, and attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Experience with project management and data entry tasks
- Knowledge of legal drafting, filing procedures, and court document requirements
- Effective interviewing skills and professional phone etiquette
- Prior experience with legal research, document review, and file management is highly desirable
- Prior experience with ESI Law and/or production of legal accounts and knowledge of trust bookkeeping highly desirable
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment

Pay: $55,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
