Job Title: Service Writer
We’re looking for a Service Writer to join our Head Office team in Acheson to support our Fleet & Fire Divisions.

Responsibilities:
- Serve as a professional point of contact for customers via phone and email, providing exceptional service.
- Communicate with customers to schedule appointments for routine maintenance or to advise of any additional work.
- Remain informed on the status of work in order to consistently provide progress updates to the customer.
- Perform follow-ups with customers after work has been completed to ensure service work or invoicing are satisfactory.
- Open, close, and maintain all service work orders in continuous coordination with the Service Manager.
- Process payments, warranty-related claims, credit returns, and transaction reconciliations.
- Utilize CDK/Intellidealer and CRM systems for tracking customer activities and internal recordkeeping.
- Provide cross-departmental support by assisting with parts counter service, payments, and sourcing information as required.
- Assisting with shipping/receiving or parts runs occasionally or during peak periods.
- Collaborate with the Parts Department, Mechanics, and Shipper/Receiver to ensure a smooth workflow and assist the team as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all company safety policies.
Requirements and Skills:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a Service Writing role; experience in a dealership environment is a plus.
- Ability to relay technical information or issues to customers.
- Given the collaborative nature of the service department, previous Parts or Shipping/Receiving experience would be a plus.
- Participate in cross-training in adjacent departments such as Parts and Shipping/Receiving.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal), multitasking, record keeping and organizational skills.
- Computer literate; experience with CDK/Intellidealer is a strong asset.
- Electro-mechanical aptitude and experience with service estimating are considered assets.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and a clean drivers abstract for the previous 3+ years.
- Forklift operator certification is an asset (training will be provided if needed).
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently and exercise good judgment.
Related Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry equipment components, parts and tools weighing up to 50lbs. Independently, and push/pull up to 500lbs.
- Bending, climbing stairs, or stepladders intermittently, and standing, walking or sitting for extended periods.
- Light to moderate exposure to environmental elements during work.
Employment Type & Compensation:
- Salary Range: $25.00 - $33.00 hourly (dependent on experience and certifications).
