Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable to join our team in Canada. Based in Mission, you will play a vital role in managing our company's financial obligations, ensuring timely payments, and supporting our mission of environmentally conscious manufacturing.
Core Responsibilities
- Validate invoices — Ensure authorized invoices are accurately validated, matched, coded, and entered.
- Process payments — Issue payments by cheque and online banking, prioritizing due dates and cash‑flow requirements.
- Monitor credit cards — Review credit card transactions and account balances to ensure timely payment (low volume).
- Reconcile vendor accounts — Maintain accurate vendor ledgers through regular reconciliations, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring records align with internal accounts.
Additional Responsibilities
- Vendor communication — Collaborate with purchasing and procurement teams to resolve vendor concerns and improve payment processing.
- Compliance oversight — Ensure accounts payable activities comply with company policies, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements.
- Month‑end support — Assist with the month‑end closing process as needed.
Qualifications
- Accounts payable experience — Minimum 3 years of proven AP experience.
- Software proficiency — Proficient with Sage 300; comfortable with Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Teams, and Excel.
- Attention to detail — Strong analytical skills and the ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
Reports to: Director of Finance
Reason for Vacancy: Temporary coverage during employee sick leave
Duration: To be determined (dependent on sick‑leave timeline)
Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 hours
Fixed Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Location: Fully on‑site
Workload: ~15 core vendors; ~370 invoices per month; low‑volume credit card activity
