At Jungbunzlauer Canada Inc. a Glucose Production Technician holds a critical operations function. Using strong skills and knowledge of chemical and mechanical systems he/she monitors and optimizes production while minimizing waste. They participate in the quality and safety program and strives for excellence in the manufacture of glucose using diligence and discernment in the excising of their duties.
The Glucose Production Technician works closely with the Team Leaders, Production Manager and Quality Control Technicians, to optimize productivity and minimize process interruptions. A Glucose Production Technician reports directly to the Team Leader and performs work in accordance with the Team Leader’s direction. As part of the role, the Glucose Production Technician is responsible for engaging and collaborating with others.
Responsibilities
- Directly responsible for ensuring that all health, safety and security procedures are observed andmaintained at all times.
- Managing Quality Assurance and Process Safety throughout the Glucose Plant.
- Monitoring and correction on equipment throughout the Glucose Plant.
- Process equipment operation, startup/shutdown and repair.
- Production optimization including process troubleshooting and correction through inter-departmentalcollaboration.
- Perform inspections and daily rounds with the focus on health, safety and the environment, as well asequipment monitoring.
- Back up the other Production Technicians as necessary.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of operating procedures.
- Housekeeping to meet and exceed FSSC and 5S expectations
- Participating in continuous improvement/kaizen initiatives
- Participating in training and implementing best practices on the job
- Following health and safety standards to prevent injury
- Participating in the identification and correcting of unsafe conditions and unsafe behaviours
- Communicate effectively
- Take on other assignments as directed
Qualifications
- Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma (or equivalent)
- Post-secondary education in chemical or mechanical technologies
- A minimum of 2-5 years related professional experience within a food or chemical manufacturing industry
- Operations experience in the corn wet milling industry, or equivalent an asset
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and SAP
- Demonstrated ability to perform and base decisions on analysis and safe work practices
- Ability to recognize process improvement opportunities
- Some supervisory experience an asset
- Confident, collaborative personality

Pay: $32.72-$38.08 per hour
