Job Description
Orizon Solar is seeking an experienced Journeyman Electrician to join our growing team in Edmonton and surrounding areas. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, commissioning, and maintaining solar PV systems on residential and commercial properties. This role requires strong electrical knowledge, leadership skills, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Responsibilities
- Install, wire, and commission solar PV systems for residential and commercial projects
- Perform service and main panel upgrades
- Lead and support solar installation crews on-site
- Perform electrical wiring, conduit installation, grounding, and panel connections
- Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance
- Ensure all installations comply with Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and local regulations
- Coordinate with project managers, inspectors, and utility representatives
- Complete required documentation and job reports
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment
- Mentor apprentices and junior electricians when required
Requirements
- Valid Journeyman Electrician Certification
- 4+ years of electrical experience (solar experience preferred)
- Strong knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code (CEC)
- Experience with residential and commercial electrical systems
- Residential electrical and solar experience is an asset
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Comfortable working at heights and on rooftops
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous solar PV installation experience
- Experience working with microinverters and string inverters
- Experience with service upgrades and panel replacements
- Leadership or crew lead experience
Willingness to travel or work out of town from time to time.
