Overview
We currently have an opening for the position of Help Desk/Information Systems Support in our Vancouver office. Please review the following and if this sets out the perfect opportunity for you, we look forward to hearing from you.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Primary responsibility will be to respond to helpdesk tickets (calls, emails, etc.) for all offices and to be available for on-site support in the Vancouver office when required.
- Help to manage and maintain accounts, mailboxes, etc. using Active Directory, Entra, Exchange Admin (Online), etc.
- Support, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with general applications used daily including (but not limited to) Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Teams, Zoom, Webex, Chrome, etc. As well as non-standard applications used for things like Document Management, Accounting, E-discovery, etc.
- Provide system training/onboarding to new users.
- Assist with equipment moves, swaps, and deployment, etc. (i.e. replacing old equipment and setting up new stations, printers, etc.)
- Provide On-site support for AV Equipment, Virtual Meeting setups, etc., when required.
- Responsible for managing and maintaining local office inventory (laptops, desktops, projectors, servers, printers, etc.)
Education and Experience
- College diploma in Computer Systems, Systems Administration or related technical discipline.
- In lieu of training an equivalent amount of directly related experience may be considered.
Other Requirements
- Good analytical problem-solving skills, ability to troubleshoot and resolve application problems.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and telephone manners;
- Ability to correspond with lawyers and staff as well as create end user documentation.
- Ability to transfer knowledge in an efficient, pleasant and effective way using a variety of techniques.
- Patience, flexibility and an ability to deal with and manage difficult situations.
- Capacity to adapt to different work schedule (week, weekends and statutory holidays) when required.
- Able to respond in person on-site when needed, sometimes with short notice.
- Willingness to learn new software applications.
- Experience with Microsoft Server, Active Directory (Entra), and Exchange (Online) is an asset.
- Proficient with using and troubleshooting Microsoft Office 2019+ and Windows 10+.
- Capable of assisting with heavy lifting.
- Ability to exercise strategic thinking and problem-solving skills in managing complex situations.
- Ability to respond outside normal business hours when required.
