OH&S and Administration Assistant

You Will
- Support development, implementation and maintenance of the resort’s OH&S program and safety policies.
- Conduct department inspections, incident/near-miss reporting and investigations, PPE and safety equipment checks, update Health & Safety Action Lists, conduct Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings.
- Be responsible for the documentation, compliance, and recording of the Safety Management Program files, both electronic and physical
- Ensure all necessary employee training is completed, documented, complies with all provincial and federal regulations, tracked in a central location, and is filed
- Assist management in the investigation of any serious injury incident or near miss and ensure that the root cause has been identified
- Review injury and illness trends and identify problem areas and solutions
- Carry out an annual review of policies and procedures
- Prepare for our Certification of Recognition Audit annually
- Know and follow all safe work procedures included in the Safety Management Program
- Know and comply with all expectations of the Injury Management/Return-to-Work Programs
- Coordinate and track staff safety training (WHMIS, first aid, winter-specific hazards) and maintain training records.
- Assist with emergency response and critical incident safety drills and documentation.
- Handle front desk/admin tasks: phone/email enquiries, filing, data entry, purchasing safety supplies and preparing routine reports for management.
- Know and adhere to the policies, rules and protocols outlined in the Resorts of the Canadian Rockies employee handbook
You
- Have previous experience in a health and safety or administrative role
- Demonstrate professional conduct, with the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality, discretion and tact
- Have exceptional communication skills, including the ability to write professional correspondence
- Are comfortable working outdoors in winter conditions; physically able to move around resort terrain
- Are positive, safety-minded and have the ability to work independently
Position Details
- Full-time, Seasonal from October until the end of April (or year-round with potential for extension). Must be available for early mornings, weekends and holiday coverage during peak season.
