Bartender Position Summary
St. George’s Golf Club is seeking a professional, energetic, and service-focused Bartender to join our Food & Beverage team. This role is responsible for preparing, pouring, and serving beverages in accordance with Club standards while delivering an exceptional member and guest experience.
The ideal candidate is personable, detail-oriented, and knowledgeable about cocktails, wines, spirits, and current beverage trends. As a front-line representative of the Club, the Bartender plays a key role in maintaining and enhancing the reputation of St. George’s through outstanding hospitality, professionalism, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to St. George’s recipes, standards, and service procedures.
- Provide attentive, professional, and personalized service to members and guests.
- Greet members and guests in a warm, friendly, and courteous manner.
- Accurately process and record all sales using the POS system.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and overall presentation of the bar and surrounding service areas.
- Restock and prepare requisitions for spirits, wine, beer, mixers, garnishes, and bar supplies.
- Assist with bar inventory counts on a monthly basis
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, fire, and emergency procedures.
- Report maintenance concerns, hazards, and unsafe conditions promptly to management.
- Follow all Club policies, procedures, and standards outlined in the employee handbook.
- Support bar operations in other Club areas as assigned.
- Participate in regular menu and beverage knowledge testing.
Qualifications & Skills Required Qualifications
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 18 years of age to prepare and serve alcoholic beverages.
- Strong English communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, split shifts, and late hours.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Smart Serve Certification.
- Food Handler Certification.
- Knowledge of cocktails, wine, spirits, and beverage service standards.
- Previous bartending or hospitality experience in a private club, restaurant, or hospitality environment.
Health & Safety Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Identify and report hazards, unsafe conditions, and maintenance issues immediately.
- Adhere to all workplace safety procedures and Club standards.
