Host / Hostess – Eggspectation Bay StreetOverview
Eggspectation Bay Street is seeking a friendly, energetic, and professional Host/Hostess to join our hospitality team. As the first point of contact for our guests, this role is essential in creating a warm and positive first impression while ensuring smooth daily restaurant operations.
This is a daytime position and requires both indoor and outdoor work, including managing guest flow for our patio during the warmer months. The ideal candidate is highly personable, organized, hands-on, and thrives in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and excellent communication are essential for success in this role. Previous hospitality experience is preferred; however, we also value enthusiasm, reliability, and a genuine passion for guest service.
Responsibilities
- Welcome and greet guests warmly upon arrival while creating a positive first impression
- Manage reservations efficiently using reservation platforms such as Libro
- Answer phone calls professionally and demonstrate excellent phone etiquette at all times
- Handle guest inquiries, reservations, waitlists, and special requests accurately
- Escort guests to tables promptly and provide menus
- Actively manage seating rotations, table assignments, and re-seating to optimize restaurant flow and guest experience
- Coordinate closely with servers, managers, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service operations
- Assist with patio seating and guest management during outdoor dining service
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand, entrance, and waiting areas
- Support daily front-of-house operations and assist team members as needed
- Ensure all guests receive attentive and professional service throughout their visit
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience in hospitality, restaurants, guest services, or food service is preferred
- Familiarity with reservation systems such as Libro is an asset
- Experience with POS systems such as Micros POS is considered an advantage
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong multitasking and organizational abilities in a fast-paced environment
- Professional appearance and positive attitude
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors, including patio operations
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and guest-focused during busy periods

Pay: $17.60-$21.60 per hour
