Acero Engineering Inc. (“Acero”), a growing oil & gas facilities engineering company providing engineering, procurement and construction management expertise is currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to fill one role as an Instrumentation & Controls Designer (12 - 18-month contract role).
Acero is focused on facility and pipeline engineering, procurement and construction management services; from concept evaluation to plant start-up. Our core service offering is in-house project management, process, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and control engineering, project engineering, procurement, regulatory services, civil and structural engineering, and construction management.
Responsibilities:

Producing oil facility-related Instrumentation & Control drawing packages, including SLDs, area classification drawings, electrical layouts, JB wiring diagrams, motor/VFD schematics, cable schedules, EHT isometrics, etc.

Generating industrial control system drawings

Producing datasheets and loop diagram development (preferably in SPI).

Perform demand load calculations, voltage drop calculations, cable tray fill calculations, etc.

Supporting engineering and procurement efforts regarding the requisition of electrical equipment such as switch-gears, MCC, UPS, EHT panels, e-Houses, etc.

Interpreting information from vendor electrical drawings, P&IDs, LDTs, isometrics, etc.

Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:

Required: Bachelor’s Degree or Certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution in Electrical or Instrumentation Design

Required: SmartPlant 3D (S3D) and SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI) experience

Must understand the pertinent codes and standards

Speed, accuracy and the ability to work long hours as necessary to complete the work is an absolute must-have character trait
