Valbruna ASW Inc., the premier specialty steel-making facility located in Welland, ON, has an immediate requirement for the following position:
PRODUCTION WORKER

Reporting to the Melt Shop Supervisor, some of the Production Worker’s duties and responsibilities includes some of the following:
- Assembles/disassembles the bottom pour setup.
- Strips ingots when necessary.
- Maintains adequate supply of alloys and operating supplies.
- Shovels, weighs, and adds alloys to molten steel.
- Assists in all phases of furnace operation.
- Takes temperatures and collects samples from molten steel.
- Operates a variety of shop equipment including Forklift.
- Wears the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Performs general housekeeping duties and maintains a clean work area.
- Follows work instructions, SOPs, and adheres to all safety policies and procedures.
- Completes all other duties that are assigned.
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- Must possess a High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Demonstrates the ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Steel manufacturing experience would be considered an asset.
- Ability and willingness to work shifts, primarily night shifts, as well as overtime as required.
- Reliable, dedicated, and trustworthy.
- Proven ability to learn new things and be flexible in response to changing requirements in a fast-paced environment.
- Superior analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills and a demonstrated ability to take initiative and to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong safety track record and demonstrated willingness to participate in workplace safety and ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures.

· This is a union position paying $28.66 per hour with overtime available after 40 hours per week in accordance with the Collective Agreement
· There is a shift premium is paid to employees working the afternoon shift ($0.35) and ($0.55) working the night shift.
